Family Photo Candle

Try these ideas (picture candles & center pieces)

I used everything crafty I could think of to make the graduation perfect. I found these great ideas in some craft books. I suggest trying them to make any party a unique experience.

Picture Candles

-Great for family gifts
-Pain in the Ass to make, but worth it
-Unless your Jesus you shouldn’t make more than one candle per family, no one wants five picture candles of you around their house.

Materials: White candle
Vellum (It’s much cheaper to buy the vellum at an office supply store instead of a craft store)
Wax paper
Family photo

How To: 1. Scale family photo to fit candle
2. Print on vellum
3. Place printed picture on the candle and wrap around the candle with wax paper

TIP: Place a small amount of clear glue stick to the whole back of the picture to keep it still.
TIP: Cut the wax paper so that it wraps around perfectly. The better the fit the better the adhesion

4. Use a heat gun (Blow dryer if you don’t have one) to heat the picture

TIP: The wax paper will protect the candle, but use caution with the heat gun
TIP: Heat the candle until the ink has transferred to the candle

Cellophane Centerpiece

Materials: Clear bowl (best is a large crystal bowl)
Cellophane (I like the iridescent, but there are a lot of other colors found at craft stores)
Battery operated indoor lights (two or three depending in size of bowl used)

TIP: Use the white base lights and not the green so the ugly part of the lights is hidden and all that’s left is the glow from the bulbs.

How To: 1.Place cellophane in bowl.
2. Hide lights throughout bowl using the cellophane
