Creative Jewelry Solutions
I decided to try some inventive ways of displaying my jewelry collection in order to inspire me to wear more pieces.
I checked out some great blogs and shopped around at my favorite hot spots; My home (nothing like using what you have), dollar store, and second hand shops.
Here are some of my creative solutions…
Second Hand Picture Frame: Painted black and hammered with nails to hang my favorite necklaces. The earrings are hanging from a blue ribbon I secured with hot glue on the back.

Dollar Store Display Box: Painted purple and decorated with butterfly stickers (also scored at the dollar store)

Jewelry Wedding Bouquet
For my recent wedding in Saint Thomas, VI. I found myself, like most women in need of the perfect wedding bouquet. I had already convinced myself there was no need for flower arrangements to adorn the venue since it was already an Eden. I couldn’t bare to be without a jewel encrusted tropical bouquet.
Living in California while planning a destination wedding was a real challenge. Trying to find a florist that wouldn’t over charge me while still giving me the flowers I wanted was hopeless. One such item, ”monkey tails” was not available; neither were the hydrangeas I wanted. The lack of choices as well as the over priced…lets gouge the bride…. were on an island, what choice does she have?…. ha! Ha! Ha! attitude made me rethink the traditional bouquet.
I started looking around and found this website. The section on brooch bouquets changed my entire perspective on what makes a wedding bouquet beautiful. I decided I wanted a jewelry bouquet of my own. Of course I decided, as usual… “I can Make This”!! So I started gathering my favorite antique and costume Jewelry. I used pieces of my own as well as some from the lovely women in my life such as my grandmother.
It took a minute to wrap my head around how to make the bouquet but a few short trips to my old friend Michaels and I was on my way.

Family Photo Candle
Try these ideas (picture candles & center pieces)
I used everything crafty I could think of to make the graduation perfect. I found these great ideas in some craft books. I suggest trying them to make any party a unique experience.
Picture Candles
-Great for family gifts
-Pain in the Ass to make, but worth it
-Unless your Jesus you shouldn’t make more than one candle per family, no one wants five picture candles of you around their house.
Materials: White candle
Vellum (It’s much cheaper to buy the vellum at an office supply store instead of a craft store)
Wax paper
Family photo
How To: 1. Scale family photo to fit candle
2. Print on vellum
3. Place printed picture on the candle and wrap around the candle with wax paper
TIP: Place a small amount of clear glue stick to the whole back of the picture to keep it still.
TIP: Cut the wax paper so that it wraps around perfectly. The better the fit the better the adhesion
4. Use a heat gun (Blow dryer if you don’t have one) to heat the picture
TIP: The wax paper will protect the candle, but use caution with the heat gun
TIP: Heat the candle until the ink has transferred to the candle
Cellophane Centerpiece
Materials: Clear bowl (best is a large crystal bowl)
Cellophane (I like the iridescent, but there are a lot of other colors found at craft stores)
Battery operated indoor lights (two or three depending in size of bowl used)
TIP: Use the white base lights and not the green so the ugly part of the lights is hidden and all that’s left is the glow from the bulbs.
How To: 1.Place cellophane in bowl.
2. Hide lights throughout bowl using the cellophane
ENJOY
